Workforce Partnerships

The core mission of the Hostos Center for Workforce Development is to train workers in skills that employers need and prepare them to possess THE SKILLS TO DO THE JOB! Our Center engages employers, community-based non-profits, and public and private funders to meet the demands of the community at large.

The Center’s multilingual staff offer high quality instruction and trainings to ensure competencies in basic skills, business skills, healthcare, technology, construction, and related vocations.  Instructors at Hostos have industry experience and the hands-on knowledge needed to cater to the diverse student learner.  Over the last decade, we have designed and implemented hundreds of career-focused classes and trainings with local partners such as Local 32BJ, Jewish Community Relations Council of New York, The New York City Mayor’s Office, Jewish Home Lifecare, Lincoln Medical Center, and the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) to name a few.

The Center has partnered with and received support from JP Morgan Chase & Co., the Ford Foundation, and Goldman Sachs.  The Hostos Center for Workforce Development is able to provide free job-training programs to targeted groups thanks to generous support from the following funders:
  • U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS)
    • Program Funded:  Allied Health Career Pipeline Program
  • U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL)
    • Program Funded:  CUNY Career PATH
