Brent Wilson was named Director of Athletics on Monday, August 14th, 2023. Brent brings experience as a successful administrator and an accomplished college basketball head coach.
 
"I want to thank President Cocco De Filippis, Senior Vice President Rodríguez-Chardavoyne, Vice President Yates, and the entire search committee," said Wilson. "It is an honor to be named the next Director of Athletics at Hostos Community College. I am excited to get started and cannot wait to start working with our coaches and student-athletes."
 
Wilson arrives from Sullivan County Community College, where he served as Assistant Director of Athletics and Head Men's Basketball Coach since 2013. As Assistant Athletics Director, he oversaw all aspects of the department, including the day-to-day operations of the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse. In addition to playing a significant part in the department's transition from NJCAA DIII to NJCAA DII, Brent assisted with oversight of its National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) affiliated varsity intercollegiate sports, the implementation of recreation and intramurals, maintenance of facilities, and the development of additional intercollegiate athletic programs. This past season, the Generals won Region XV championships in Men's and Women's Basketball and Baseball.
 
As the head coach over the last ten years, Brent leaves as the All-Time winningest coach with 219 wins. Wilson also took two teams to the National Tournament, and his teams have also won multiple Region XV Championships. Most importantly, Wilson has sent over 45 players onto four-year institutions.
 
Before his appointment at SUNY Sullivan, Wilson spent time at the NCAA Division 1 level as an Assistant Coach at the University of North Dakota and the University of Albany. A 2008 graduate of the University at Albany, Brent helped lead the Great Danes to their first two NCAA tournament appearances in school history. Brent also obtained a Master's Degree from Canisius College in 2016 in Sports Administration.
 
Brent resides in Mahopac, NY, with his wife Tina. They have three girls (Camdyn, Lillian, and Hayley) and a boy (Brady).
