Each year for Giving Tuesday, the 25 CUNY colleges participate in a university-wide online fundraising campaign called CUNY Tuesday. The Hostos Division of Institutional Advancement enjoys participating and exceeding fundraising goals. The DIA's CUNY Tuesday effort is led by Development Manger Idelsa Méndez who successfully helped raised more than $51,000 to ensure that students have access to the emergency support they need to persist through these challenging times. Hostos, the second smallest of the CUNY community colleges, ranked second among its peers in funds raised for this campaign.
The College is fortunate to have such fierce advocates who are dedicated to the success of our students and Hostos’ mission. We extend special thanks to some of our most devoted supporters, Professor Gerald Meyer, who made a $5,000 matching gift, and Wallace and Dr. Nydia Edgecombe, who made a $2,000 donation. CUNY Tuesday contributions help to bolster two of our student emergency funds – Bridge Tuition Support Assistance (BTSA) and the Circle of 100 Emergency Fund. Scholarship opportunities such as these are critical tools that allow Hostos to fulfill its mission – enabling student success. Thank you to everyone who generously made a donation.
