On Thursday, December 15, the Office of Alumni Relations, Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) and ASAP collaborated to host an Alumni Holiday Mixer. The well-attended gathering brought together alumni, faculty, and staff to celebrate the spirit of Hostos — an environment where all are welcome and encouraged to dream. Attendees enjoyed light refreshments and networked in the beautiful A Building atrium.

Alumni Manager Felix Sánchez thanked the Hostos alumni network for the many ways they share their success to empower current students remarking, “On a continuous basis, our Hostos Alumni share their time, expertise and career insights with our student population to guide them into successful careers trajectories.”

During the event, Mr. Sánchez and Karla Contreras, Dual Degree Advising Coordinator, recognized the alumni who contributed to the Alumni Career Talk Week conversations in November: Raziel BenRuben ’19, Stephen Darko ’16, Wendy Fernandez ’15, Aaishah Francis ’16, Isamar Garrido Rodríguez ’16, Andrey Lavrentyev ’18, Gloria Mariel Lopes Carvalho ’22, Amadou Maiga ’21, Yesside Oppenheimer ’10, Dijibrina Ouedraogo ’16, Alexandra Pisano ’20, Wilfredo Rodríguez ’01, Stanley Tineo ’11, and Avery Toledo ’12. Provost Shiang-Kwei Wang added her gratitude and commended these volunteers for their insightful contributions and lasting impact on students.

The Office of Alumni Relations, OAA, and ASAP extend their appreciation to those who attended and helped to raise more than $300 toward the intended Alumni Student Transfer Scholarship Fund, which will provide transfer scholarships to graduating Hostos students.
