How to add your Phone as authenticator (SMS or Call)

  1. Log into your Office account
  2. Click on your User Name on top right of the screen  
  3. Navigate to your account settings 
  4. Click on Security Info  
  5. Click on the + beside Add sign-in method 
  6. In the pop up window, click the drop-down menu and select Phone 
    NOTE: Alternate Phone and Office phone do not have text capability 
  7. Click on Add  
  8. Enter your phone number in the displayed field The next steps are based on the choice you make
    • Receive a code  
      • Click on to get the code as a text message  
      • You will receive a code on your phone
      • Enter this number  
      • Click on next
      • You will see the message “Verification complete”
      • Click on Done  
      • Call me
        • Click on next
        • SWITCH TO PHONE – answer the call  
          • Answer the call from Microsoft  
          • Press # to complete the registration process  
  9. SWITCH TO BROWSER 
    • You will see the message “Verification complete.” 
    • Click on Done 
  10. Your MFA setup for receiving a phone call as an authentication method is now complete
