Selection Criteria

Nominees for the Teaching Award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  1. Pedagogical Innovation: Demonstrates the use of innovative teaching methods that enhance learning outcomes and engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  2. Commitment to Student Success: Shows a strong commitment to supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom, including mentoring, advising, and involvement in student-related activities.
  3. Scholarly Approach to Teaching and Learning*: Engages in scholarly activities related to teaching and learning, such as educational research, presentations, and publications.
  4. Contribution to Curriculum Development: Participates in the development and improvement of curricula in their department or college-wide, enhancing the educational offerings of the institution.
  5. Professional Development: Actively seeks professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills an stay current in their field.
