The objective of this program is to educate individuals to become meaningfully employed in state, county, local and uniformed federal law enforcement agencies. The courses provide specialized concentrations in the role of police and the community, police organizations & their structure and issues that affect law enforcement today.
Students completing the Police Science sequence, including a language and science requirement, will also be prepared to transfer to a four-year college to pursue a bachelor’s of science degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Police Studies.
Students successfully completing the requirements of this program shall be eligible to receive an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree.
Comprising 60 credits, this program requires students to complete a minimum of 27 credits in Police Science and/or Criminal Justice; the balance to be distributed among liberal arts courses and electives.
Upon graduation, the student will be qualified to seek employment in various state, local, county, municipal and uniformed federal law enforcement agencies.
