On-Campus Job description: 

The Office of Communications (OC) is seeking a Social Media Intern to support the Hostos Community College mission. Working under the guidance of the Communications team, the Social Media Intern is responsible for obtaining visual materials for all our platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Capturing and collecting visual materials (photos, videos) for the College’s social media.
Editing visual materials (reels, stories, and more), following a strict calendar of deadlines.
Updating the social media calendar along with the Communications Publications Writer.
Track social media engagement to identify high-performing content.
When on schedule, accompanying members of the OC at coverage of events to capture photos and/or videos for social media as needed/requested.
Maintaining an organized archive of visual materials (photos, videos) accessible to all in the OC and the Office of the President.
Collaborating with a cross-functional team of writers, editors, graphic designers, creative directors, and other administrative personnel.
Following the Office of the President protocols at all events, including the appropriate collection of release forms from featured/recorded individuals from the College.
 
Skills required or requested: 

Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience (professional, internship, or personal brand) with original social media content creation.
Have a proven record of successful social media content creation across major platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Some knowledge of social media analytics software, including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, etc.
Familiarity with image/video editing software.

Preferred Qualifications:
Photography/Videography/Audiovisual Editing certifications or college courses successfully completed.
