Students must satisfy the following requirements prior to enrollment:
- Earned a high school or high school equivalency diploma.
- Completed all CUNY Admissions requirements, admitted to Hostos Community college and eligible to register for classes.
- Have developmental needs in English and/or Math based on CUNY proficiency index placements.
- Able to commit to an intensive academic schedule and actively participate in classes.
- *Jump Start students are required to file for FASFA and TAP prior to the start of the semester, to cover tuition for their eligible credit course.

- CUNY Start is not appropriate for students seeking to learn English as a second language. Please visit the CLIP program website for more information about intensive ESL program offerings.
