Program Effectiveness Data
The performance of the program is reflected through program effectiveness data as defined by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 06011.  Program effectiveness data includes the program completion rate, credentialing examination pass rate and job placement rate.  This information can also be obtained at  Questions about program effectiveness data should be directed to the Program Coordinator.
The Dental Hygiene Program annual 2018 report reflected the following data:  
Completion Rate for Graduating Class 2016 - 2018
The completion rate is a measurement of the number of students that began the program divided by the number of students that actually completed the program.  The completion rate are as follows: 2016 was 84%, 2017 was 80% and 2018 was 80%.  

Credentialing Examination Pass Rate - 2016 through 2018
This is the number of dental hygiene students that pass the clinical exam given by the Commission on Dental Competency Assessment (CDCA) and a written National Board Dental Hygiene Exam (NBDHE) given by the American Dental Association (ADA).  Note that students have the choice in whether or not to release their clinical grades (CDCA exam) to the dental hygiene program. The pass rate for the clinical dental hygiene exam (CDCA) for 2016 and 2017 was 98%, and 2018 was 100%.  The pass rate for the NBDHE for 2016 was 90% and 2017 was 95%.    

Job Placement Rate - 2015 through 2017
This is the number of students that gained employment in dental hygiene within 6 months of obtaining their license.  This figure reflects an average over a three-year span and was obtained through a graduate survey sent to the 117 graduates from 2015 to 2017 class.  88 out of 117 students responded to the graduate survey during this period actively sought employment in dental hygiene within six months of graduation.  The program's job placement rate average from the years 2015 to 2017 is 100%.
