Program Effectiveness Data
The performance of the program is reflected through program effectiveness data as defined by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 06011. Program effectiveness data includes the program completion rate, credentialing examination pass rate and job placement rate. This information can also be obtained at http://www.ada.org/en/coda. Completion Rate for Graduating Class 2018 - 2020
The completion rate is a measurement of the number of students that began the program divided by the number of students that actually completed the program. The completion rate are as follows: 2018 was 80%, 2019 was 84% and 2020 was 86%.
Credentialing Examination Pass Rate - 2018 through 2020
This is the number of dental hygiene students that pass the clinical exam given by the Commission on Dental Competency Assessment (CDCA) and a written National Board Dental Hygiene Exam (NBDHE) given by the American Dental Association (ADA). Note that students have the choice in whether or not to release their clinical grades (CDCA exam) to the dental hygiene program. The pass rate for the clinical dental hygiene exam (CDCA) for 2018 was 100%, 2019 was 97% and 2020 was 100%. The pass rate for the NBDHE for 2018 was 92%, 2019 was 94% and 2020 was 95%.
Job Placement Rate - 2018 through 2020
This is the number of students that gained employment in dental hygiene within 6 months of obtaining their license. This figure reflects an average over a three-year span and was obtained through a graduate survey sent to the 131 graduates from 2018 to 2020 class. 91 out of 131 students responded to the graduate survey during this period actively sought employment in dental hygiene within six months of graduation. The program's job placement rate average from the years 2018 to 2020 is 100%.
